Scout

We've been busy the last week. I never finished uploading and posting pictures from when my dad came to visit.

I mentioned that Jon and my dad were playing around in the driveway a bunch during my dad's visit.

One of the toys they were playing with was Jon's IH Scout. Jon and my dad replaced the brakes (the brake lines, the shoes, the hardware) and tuned the carburetor.

It still needs a lot of TLC, but a least Jon can stop while driving it now.

I'm Blessed

I'm so sorry that I missed Gretchen's I'm Blessed party yesterday over at He Sows, She Sews. I decided I would post a day late. Why not right :)

I'm blessed!

Yesterday was hubs and my 7th wedding anniversary. 7 years!! I can't believe how time flies. I am truly blessed to be married to such a wonderful man!

My dad came to visit us for the last almost 2 weeks. It was a little bit of a surprise visit and the length of the visit was even more of a surprise. BUT what a wonderful surprise BLESSING it was to have him here. The babes love him SO much.

I was blessed this last week to watch the babes run out after every nap/sleep time to see where their Papa was and squeal in delight.

I am blessed to have such handy men in my life. Hubs and my dad built a corral for the babes in the front yard. Now I don't have to be terrified out there and I can even attempt to bring them out on my own.

I am blessed to have such understanding men in my life. After a day of having my cage out front I asked hubs if he could move it to the back yard. The back is a bit flatter than the front. He hasn't done it yet, but I know he will once he gets a chance :)

Food is Just so Wonderful!

Many of you know how much my babes LOVE food! They seriously eat more than I do. The best part is that they will try anything! Daddy is such a blah eater so it has been soooo so nice to finally have food partners.

For lunch the other day I made us a turkey, cheese, cucumber, and tomato wrap. Actually I made more than 1. Each babe had a whole one by themselves.

YUM!

I started off with holding the wrap myself and feeding it to the boys - allowing them to take one bite at a time. Then I decided to let them try on their own.

I was so surprised with Gunnar. He held the wrap perfectly. One hand on each side. This is how he took each and every bite until his wrap was gone.

Micaiah used only one hand. He held it toward the back of the wrap and basically shoved it in, bite after bite, until it was all gone.

After our wraps we had some puff popcorn. This stuff is SO yummy!

Of course we need dessert next. Dessert in our house is fruit. Sometimes I will allow them to have a cookie (I have made baby cookies before and they loved them-I need to do that again), but normally I say dessert and then give them some sort of fruit.

All we had left was an apple :( it was a bit gritty too :( guess I gotta get to the store.

Meal time has been a blast lately. I love that my boys will try new foods. They like peanut butter and jelly, cucumber sandwiches, banana pancakes, honey pancakes, blueberry pancakes (any type of pancakes I will make them), scrambled eggs, meatloaf (mini meatloafs with bbq sauce YUM), potatoes, hummus, kiwi, mango, really anything!!

I will let you know what new foods we decided to try next :)

Sprinkler Fun

While at Walmart looking for a riding toy with Papa the boys and I decided to take a stroll down the isles on our own and look at sprinklers. After their Hose Day I thought a sprinkler would be a blast. I saw a fun looking one that was tall and sprayed balls (kept them in the air with the water pressure). As I continued to walk the isle I found a beach ball sprinkler sitting all by itself. I couldn't find where it was from. BUT My babes LOVE balls! I thought that this would be a perfect sprinkler for them. As we were walking down the isle we 'ran' into Papa. We showed him what we found and he was said that he was looking for a sprinkler for them (knowing how much fun they had the other day) and he thought this one would be perfect.

Due to the 100 degree weather we decided to try out the beach ball sprinkler.

How does that happen?

This is so neat.

After a little while we realized (duh) let's turn down the water pressure. Next time we use it we will start out with low pressure. It was much better suited for 16 month old babes.

We had so much fun out there. The sun was so bright so we didn't stay out for very long. I was terrified that my pastey white babes would turn into lobsters. I am greatful for super long bathing suits, sun hats, and sun shirts.

Ride On

As you know my dad is up visiting us. During the week when Jon was at work my dad and I decided that we needed (wanted to get out of the house) to go shopping.

My dad was interested in getting the boys a 'riding' toy so we had a list of stores to go to. 1st was Walmart, 2nd was Target, and 3rd was Toys R Us. We got to store #1 and found something great.

My dad had nothing particular in mind, but it just so happened that our favorite ride on toy was a red motorcycle. How appropriate! More motorcycles at my house....I'm not surprised.

Later that night my dad and brother started to put the bikes together. The boys had a blast helping build the bikes.

Of course a little water break is necessary. Oh and it was getting hot so we needed to wear Papa's dew rag.

After our water break Gunnar began to get a little impatient and wanted to go for a ride!

*I actually don't have any riding pictures or even just completed pictures of the bikes. The boys were SO excited after the bikes were put together that we placed them on top and rode them around the hallways right away. Uncle Jimmy had left before the boys got to ride so there weren't enough hands to help babes ride AND take pictures.

After we finished riding we had to get a picture with Papa.
