Apple Smash

On Saturday we had so much fun as a family.  Hubs and I decided to have the boys skip their nap.  We played, played and played some more.

One of the things we did was apple smash.  We have two apple trees in our backyard and a few apples have fallen.  Hubs brought out the tennis rackets, we collected some apples and then we shashed away.

M picking up an apple to throw it back to us.  His eyes look super creepy in this picture.

We used the boys Tonka truck to collect all the fallen apples.

G collecting apples.  He looks so sad.  You'd think he was doing yard clean up and not apple smash.

We had so much fun with the boys.  We washed two cars, played apple smash, drove monster trucks, rode a hobby horse and at the end of the day we snuggled and watched a short show.

Recent Happenings

We spent some time at Grandma and Grandpa's last week.  Hubs wanted to work on his Scout a bit.  While he worked in the shop the boys and I traveled back and forth between my moms and Hubs parents.

One of the days we were at Hubs parents it started to rain.  The boys insisted on going outside.

After coming home  the boys wanted to continue playing in the dirt.  They gathered up their 'crash' cars and monster trucks.

I think they spent over and hour sitting/laying/playing in the dirt.

Happy 4th!

Hubs was SO excited about the 4th this year!  His family has a huge celebration at the family lake cabin.  This is the first time he has been there for this holiday in years.  I had the pleasure of attending 11 years ago when Hubs and I were just dating.  I would love to but there is no way I can do the description of the day justice.  My sister in law has blogged about this for several years so I'm not even going to try.  I also didn't really take any pictures of the crowd...which was HUGE... some where around 118.

M pointing at the pie that he wanted after lunch.  There was a huge pie table with lots and lots of yummy pies.  I made a blueberry rhubarb pie.  Hubs took a slice and said it was a bit too tart for him.  I had a bite and I think I agree... and I like tart, but someone told me it was really good.... and it was all eaten, so hopefully it wasn't too bad.

This kid doesn't have a fearful bone in his body either... yikes, this mama is going to have her hands full with these 3 go, go, goers.  LOVE THEM!!!

Hope you had a wonderful holiday.
