What are some of the things you love?

We see the boys loving two things right now. Books and balloons or should I say buu and booon. They sound very similar but boy don't get them confused!

Mamas been really tired lately. With the end of the school year coming, taking care of hobbling hubs, two 14 month old boys, and let's not forget about the three dogs, I've been resting on the couch watching the boys play. Normally I am on the ground with the boys but the couch has been calling my name :/. Of course I get up when I'm needed. I get up to change diapers, to
make dinner, to clean up, to tear two screaming boys off of each other because they want the
same toys BUT for the few minutes I get to lay on the couch I do.

When I'm on the couch, I'm normally not alone. Across from the couch is the boys bookshelf. Once Mama sits on the couch a sweet faced babe comes running over saying buu buu buu. Hands Mama the book and reaches up in order to be picked up and put on the couch with me.

Here's Gunnar reading the touch and feel farm book that Grandma and Grandpa R gave us.

When one sweet babe sees the other sweet babe reading on the couch, almost instantaneously he will come over saying buu buu buu, reaching up to Mama. Sometimes he will be scooped up and join us on the couch. Other times he will stand and look at the book that way.

Oh we also LOVE the camera. Mic brought over a boon (balloon) but once he saw the camera he dropped it and said cheeese. Oh yeah, they say cheese. Someone gave them a really cute play camera for their birthday and it says, "Say cheese!". Now every time they see the camera they stop and say cheese. *That's why Gunnar's face looks so cheesey (haha) in the above pictures.

Here is Gunnar with his boon. Oh the story of the balloons.

Their favorite Aunt Doris had a 1st birthday balloon delivered for their birthday. This was the first time they ever saw a balloon. We played with the balloons all day. We sat on the ground (at this time they weren't walking) and we would pull the balloon string up and down, shaking the balloon. Every day they would crawl over to the balloon ribbon and tug in order to shake the balloon. Since we knew the boys loved balloons (and we needed some cheap decorations) we decided to buy some for centerpieces for their 1st b-day party. Of course after the party we brought them all home with us. They lasted for weeks, and so did the excitement. They did the same thing with these balloons they did with their first one. The balloons had the long ribbon. The boys would walk from ribbon to ribbon to tug on the balloon.

The boys love balloons so much, that whenever we go to a store and they see one they start yelling boon boon boon and pointing. We say oh how nice and move on. They don't think that's so nice. They WANT them in their hands. So stores, PLEASE stop putting balloons at your check out line, PLEASE. We have such a nice easy shopping trip and THEN there is the balloon at the check out line. I have not had to give in and buy one YET! haha

There was a party at the restaurant my mom works at and there were balloons. She knows how much the boys love balloons so instead of throwing them away she brought them home. She forgot them in the garage for 3 days. So I got to be the boys favorite. When I got home from work I grabbed the 9 balloons and brought them upstairs with me. OH how the boys loved me. They were shrilling, shrieking, giggling over the balloons.

Every day they read buus and play with their boons. OH they are SO CUTE!!

We have known that books and balloons are awesome on their own, but this morning we found out that when the buus have boons it's even better. Mic brought Daddy a book this morning. A book that we have read several times. However, this time was different. Daddy read the title and then read on. Micaiah sat there listening contently turning the pages when Daddy told him he could. All of a sudden he got to a page that had a balloon. Mic started bouncing on his bum on Daddy's leg yelling boon boon boon and pointing to the purple balloon. As Daddy kept reading Mic found more and more boons in the book. When Daddy closed the book and turned back to the cover Mic saw the yellow ballon and Daddy had to read the book all over again. This time with Micaiah pointing to every balloon.

Feet Up

It has been a very busy few days around here.

Hubs has been having some extremely frustrating knee pain recently. He has had 2 meniscus surgeries in the past and was thinking he was going to need another one. Last Friday he went to the orthopedic and the doc said that since he has had prior surgeries he wasn't going to bother taking MRIs or anything like that. He said he wanted to go in and take a look. SO Thursday morning hubs had knee surgery.

After talking to the doctor we found out that hubs had a tear in his lateral meniscus. The doc said the surgery went well. He was able to clean up the tear and that everything else looked good.

We got home Thursday afternoon and from them on Mama has been taking care of her three boys...oh and of course we can't forget about the 3 dogs.

The boys are enjoying sitting on their daddy's lap reading books.

The boys were invited to a very sweet little girls 2nd birthday party.

The party was at Turtle Back Zoo. Oh the memories I have from taking day trips to this particular zoo. We LOVED it! It's too funny how you remember things being so GREAT and BIG from when you experienced it as a kid and when you go back you think, seriously I thought this was so awesome back them.

Don't get me wrong it is AWESOME!! Especially for young children... I know the boys had a blast, but I can't wait to take them to a bigger zoo with bigger animals.

Here are the boys with their sweet little friend who turned 2. After we enjoys visiting with the birthday girl and her family. Eating loads of food and shoveling in cupcakes we were able to go explore the zoo how ever we chose best for our families.

We took the boys to where the bears were. We stopped in the observation room. NO bears :( We were so sad.
Then we went inside the little cabin next to bear land and guess what we saw. A BEAR! The bear was passing back and forth in front of the window. They boys eyes never left the bear.

Of course the boys are too young for pony rides, but not too young to stop and look at the one that was tied up taking a rest.

After watching some pony rides we went into the barn. This was the boys favorite part of the day. We took them out of the stroller and walked through the barn. Lifting them up over the stalls so they could see the animals. There were pigs, sheep, horses, llama. They loved each and every one. They loved how close they were to them.

I can't wait for another nice Saturday so we can take them to a farm and pet the baby animals.

We stopped to look at the waterfall. M really liked watching the water.

Wow were we tired when we got home :)

Mamas Day

I know it was so long ago now but I had such a wonderful Mother's Day!

The boys let me sleep in. Which was wonderful! BUT when it happens on a Sunday it give me anxiety. I don't set an alarm clock, I mean come on now I have two build in ones that chime in at 7am. Mother's Day morning they decided to wait until just about 9. SO my plan of getting, showering, putting on a dress, etc were totally out the window. Instead I got up threw my hair up pulled the jeans on that I wore the day before (shhhh) and viola.

I guess it was a good thing that I didn't get all dressed up because my boys wanted to take me to the park for the day. After church we went to the grocery store to grab some grub and then off to our favorite park.

Normally I'm behind the camera but since it was Mamas day the hubs said that he wanted to be in charge of the camera so he could get some shots of his boys with their "beautiful Mama" (his words not mine haha).
Here we are at the park. We just finished cleaning up our picnic. I am just wiping the boys faces before letting them out onto the lush grass for the first time ever.

Here are G and M in anticipation. Waiting to be unbuckled so they could go play.

While hubs and Mic checked out at the grocery store G and I walked to the Dollar Store to grab some balls. They had these great balls that fit so perfectly in the babes hands. We also picked up a beach ball. G and I thought it would be fun to roll on the top of it.

M decided that the balls not only fit in his hands just right but that they tasted oh so yummy too! I looked over and all of a sudden my son was eating his ball as if it were an apple. MMmmm!
I grabbed what was left in his mouth and pulled it out. I love how you can sort of see G in the background looking to see what's going on.

Gunnar was watching Mama pull out the foam chunks from M. He has the "Why don't I get any more food and he does?" look on his face.
G enjoying the thick grass.
Mommy and Micaiah

This was the first time since early spring that the boys have worn hats. (They wore them all winter, I LOVE HATS). I just couldn't get them to leave them on their heads. Ught oh!
I finally got upset and starting to give Gunnar the naughty finger shake...just kidding I was just hamming it up :)

By the end of the afternoon the boys were exhausted. Good thing they slept in so long that morning because they didn't get to take any naps the entire day.

I can't believe how happy they stayed without one.

I am the luckiest, most blessed Mama in the WORLD! Thank you Lord for giving me such a special gift!
