Sleep...

Little Man is SO stinking cute!!

He knows it too!!

He has his own room now....  OUR room!  Some of you will shake your head at us (ME) for this... too bad!  Nugget has taken over our room.  AND I'VE ALLOWED IT!  Some of you might be thinking co-sleeping.  Nope!  That's not for me.. the couple of times I tried it I don't sleep.  Too scared I'm going to roll over the babe or push him out of bed.  There's barely enough room in our bed for the two of us I'm not inviting another in unless it's out of necessity... even then I really haven't.

L has been sleeping in our room since he was born.  Well, I can't even say sleeping.  He only sleeps about an hour and a half at a time at night if I'm lucky.

The week before Hubs went to NJ to do some Sandy relief (blog post coming soon!) I slept on the couch because the Bigs were sick.  When they are as sick as they were they wake. A. LOT.   Especially G.  Every time they cried or yelled or coughed over the monitor it woke the Little Man.  Yes I use a monitor... if I don't I would NEVER hear them.  They wake so rarely that when they do they actually need something.  Anyway!!  After Hubs left I continued to sleep on the couch because G got in the habit of waking and SCREAMING for me.  It took 2 extra non sick days to break it.

Guess what L did those extra two nights I slept on the couch.... HE SLEPT (from around midnight to 5am).  That's HUGE!!!  So guess what I did.... continued to sleep on the couch!

The only reason our bed looks 'slept' in here is because the Bigs were jumping on it.

When Hubs got home I told him, but he 'insisted' on use sleeping in our room.  That night I was up with L every hour.

The next night I told Hubs he was 'NOT ALLOWED' to sleep in our room again, until we move L out!

He laughed at me, but that night he slept on the couch with me.  Guess what... L slept over 5 hours straight!!

So our new room....

The couch!!  Well, I should say the living room, since the couch isn't a room.  Here are the Bigs showing where Mommy and Daddy have been sleeping.  Hubs gets the long side (left), I get the short side (right).

Sleeping on the couch doesn't bother me.  Hubs can't stand it.  He gets 'angry' about it.  He's not the one getting up with L every hour when we are sleeping in the room (he'll get up with him, if I wake him.  He doesn't hear anything when he's sleeping, but L won't go back to sleep unless he's fed or if you want to rock/hold/sing to him for over 2 hours.  Even then he still normally has to be fed to go back to sleep, and feedings can only be done by me)... so COUCH IT IS!

Since we've been sleeping on the couch when we let the boys out of their room (yes they are locked in until we open the door) we go back to the couch and turn on a show and make the Bigs snuggle with us.  It's good and bad.  I feel like I've been a lazy mama, but at the same time I love snuggling them.  I won't lie, sometimes they won't snuggle they just sit on the floor and play while I try to convince myself to get up.

Soon L will be moving into his new room (when I get the new room for the Bigs 'decorated', they say they don't want to sleep downstairs, so I thought if I did some fun things in there they would change their minds), but until now... it's couch time!

** Since I took these pictures (last week), Hubs tried to sleep in the room again.  Of course M & G were sick again so I slept on the couch.  L slept his 5+ hours with Hubs in there.  SO, of course I tried to sleep in there too... NOPE!!  He was up every other hour.

I think it's me.  He must wake up and see me and then decide he wants me.  Hubs slept in there again last night.  L did wake when Hubs went in there and it took a good 30 minutes to get L back to sleep, but he slept almost 5 hours after that.  I will 'let' Hubs sleep in there again tonight and I will sleep on the couch.  I want to see if L will sleep with Hubs in there.  If I'm up with him multiple times again Hubs will be kicked out.  SORRY BABE!!

I need to get my bum in gear and start making this house a home.  Now that we have both floors there is so much to do and I just haven't had the umph to do it.  You would think sleeping in my bed would be a good incentive...

Snowy Times

Last week we had a gorgeous 38 degree day.  Hubs took some time to completely clear off the driveway before the super cold, icy, snowy weather we were (did) get this weekend.

While he did that, M & G did this...

A little motorcycle riding,

Some bulldozing and dump trucking

Ok, A LOT of bulldozing and dump trucking! (At least for M.)

Plenty of snow eating.   (Done by G.)

While the Little Man and Mama watched from the comfort of the living room.  Yup!  That's L standing, did you see that/read that correctly STANDING at the window.  This kid is doing things WAY too fast for me.  I was at his side the whole time holding onto him just a little bit except to back up for this (and a few other) pictures.  I was so impressed with his stability.

He loves watching his brothers.

And his Mama too :)

Daily Things

We do a new thing every day.

Little Man is now feeding himself.  Since he refuses the spoon I figured I would let him try chunks of food.  I was terrified to start him on chunks.  He gags on basically liquid oatmeal.  No, not gags, basically forces himself to vomit.  Ever since he had the stomach bug he has not eaten from a spoon... at least not willingly.

Back when he was eating really well I decided to let him try Cheerios.  Silly me.  I hadn't even let him have a soft chunk of food.  I went straight to Cheerios.  Love his face here.  He gaged on it so I didn't do it again.

A few nights ago I steamed and pureed some carrots for L.  I decided to leave 3 (baby) carrots out of the processor.  I figured I would see if he wanted to feed himself.  He loved it!  He cracks me up!  I had a little bowl of pureed carrots and a little dish of cut up carrots.  I put a few on his tray.  He worked hard and picked them up and began to enjoy them.  I tried to give him a spoonful of carrots... he gaged and forced himself to look like he was vomiting.  I picked up one of the carrot chunks, put it on the spoon while he was watching me... guess what... he ate it.  I find him to be hysterical!

The other morning we tried bananas.  People say they are so hard for babes to pick up.  You know, since they are slippery and all.  Not this kid!  I didn't even have to sprinkle Cheerio dust on them.  He just scooped them up no problem.

Look, I got it!  See!?!

So proud of himself.   (Do you see that little top left tooth.  The top two outside teeth have broken through.  I find it funny that he is getting the outside two before the middle two.)

Here's his face when trying to eat cereal (or anything off the spoon).  He refuses.

You offer him a chunk of something... he's wide open and ready.

Lip smacking good!

MMmmmmm!!

Another neat thing that we are doing is pack-n-play time.  I never used the pack and play for the Bigs.  Ok, well I used it, but not like this.  I probably used it a handful of times with them (if that).

L is spending some time, daily, in this thing.  I threw him in there every once in a while when Hubs was working at the table and the boys were playing in the living room and I had to use the bathroom, or make breakfast, or for whatever reason.  Just like those times, I threw him in there the other day so I could use both hands for a moment and he pulled himself up to see his brothers.  I was right there watching (we knew it was coming).  We still had the infant insert in there so I knew not to stray too far and not to take my eyes off of him because he could easily fall out if he was able to pull himself all the way up.

Hubs was right there in front of him (out of the shot of the picture) just incase L decided to try to be adventurous and jump out.

Right after we watched him stand himself up I scooped him up with a big hooray and pulled out the insert.

Then I set him back in there standing up.

It wasn't quite as exciting for him.

And he toppled over pretty soon after.

Since that day I have plopped him in there when I put the boys down for a nap or bed, take them to go potty, or for whatever reason in order to have two free hands.  I totally see why people like these things.  :)  Especially with having 2 almost 3 year olds that leave small toys all over the floor.

Flying

This little nugget is so adventurous!  He loves to lay on my knees/legs and fly.  He climbs over mountains of pillows that are trying to keep him away from the hearth of the fireplace.  He is beginning to pull himself up on furniture.  He 'crawls' from one end of the house to the other looking for people, the dog, or just stuff to get into.  He is so ticklish.  Lately, most of all, he loves to be thrown in the air.

Lucky for him he has a big strong daddy that loves to make him happy!

Baby Photographer - Fargo, ND - 8 Months

The other day I was lucky enough to take 1st birthday pictures of my nephew.  Before he arrived I used my nugget to play around with the setup.

Here's my Little Man L.  He's always so happy and OH SO cute!  :)

We were at my mother-in-laws house when taking these pictures.  She has some awesome props that I 'steal' from her whenever I take portraits.  My favorite so far is this tractor!!  She had others that I wanted to use but I figured I better not use them all at one time.

Children Photographer - Fergus Falls, MN - Cake Smash

On Sunday I had the privilege of photographing my super handsome nephew.  He turned 1 on the 2nd. He is one of the happiest little guys I've ever met and I had so much fun capturing these moments.
